Most all PIII and Athlon boards do have thermal monitoring, but they can be very eronius..don't trust them. I usualy just look at the temps to see if there is a big difference in a tweek I did, but not for acuracy.
Most of the modern mobo's have a program either on cd, or on the website to enable theese features..one is called "motherboard monitor", and another I can think of is "hardware doctor" theese programs have more than temp monitoring, but also have mobo voltage readings, fan speeds. I will attach a pic of mine to let you see what it's all about.
