The line and WP links appear in the middle of the articles... If you happen to accidentally click one, it takes you away from the draft you were just editing...

Also, when did the "New Thread" button change to yellow???

Matt,

They just changed the "New Thread" button. The other I don't know..........

The text you see doesn't move and isn't under everything else, like it should be. I only see it happening on that edit page.

Matt,

Gotcha, just wondering since it stands out so much now, almost like the red background for stickied classified threads...lol.

The text you see doesn't move and isn't under everything else, like it should be. I only see it happening on that edit page.

Yeah, it's on the edit page. I guess I should have said drafts instead of articles :-/

The issue looks to be that those links aren't bumped down depending on the modules being used, like they are are other pages.

Which browser?

MattNo5ss

Firefox 6

It may be because I stretch the box to fill my screen, but that didn't cause issues before. Stretching the box is almost mandatory since you're only given like a 2" tall box for editing the draft by default.

I agree, needs fixed. When did this start? I don't handle those updates myself, and hadn't heard of any changes until I saw this thread.

I'll be following it up asap.

I had checked an article earlier this morning, and it did not have the update. That was at 11am.

MattNo5ss

Not sure exactly when this started, but it had to be once the update was applied sometime today. So, it was between 11AM (whatever timezone thid is in) and 2:30PM CST (right before I posted this).

If I minimize all the modules and keep the edit box small, the links are at the bottom. But, when I expand the modules or stretch the box, the links don't get pushed down.

Also, the notification module covers up modules in the second column... However, since some of the other modules above notification will be expanded, the notification module will almost always be below the right column modules.

Yup, seeing the same thing in the latest version of chrome, and IE9. Looks like the wordpress update sucks.

Sorry, I'm in CST as well.

Filed a bug report internally and requesting a fix asap. Usually I'm notified and get an opportunity to approve updates on stage prior to rolling things to production - that didn't happen this time, and it looks like we got burnt on it.

I don't think it is quite that important to be raining fire. But hey, you are free to do that if you like.

That big of a deal? Probably not. Frustrating? Very much.

Didn't think of it that way, good point. Let the fire begin.

It looks to be fixed now

Aye, it does. Many thanks to whoever did that!

Another annoyance that's related to WP and not anything iNet does - the 'kitchen sink' (additional editing buttons" are not available in the fullscreen editor. That upsets me greatly. Stupid 'feature' WP, fail for fullscreen editing.

I don't even know what you're talking about so it doesn't bother me :p

Never even knew full screen editing existed, I just expand the editing box...lol.

Full screen helps on a small (14") laptop. The kitchen sink = additional editing controls (like tables and advanced formatting).

MattNo5ss

Yeah, sounds like annoyance number 2; having to switch full screen on and off to access advanced editing... especially on a small screen.

Thanks Matt, I forgot to update this thread when it was fixed yesterday. :)

The fix is kind of hackish I'm told, and may break again next wordpress update, if the wordpress team hasn't fixed it themselves by then... However it resolves the problem originally reported in this thread, so I'm putting it in the win column.

Maybe one day I'll get off my butt and write something for OCF... :D

That's not in full screen edit mode though. Here's what you get...

And you see what hokie is annoyed about... the KS button is not found when you go to Full Screen mode. :D

My lag when typing has cleared up a bit. It's still there, but much better.
Don't know whether it was a WP update or a FF update that did it, but it's nice.

WP had updates applied on the 4th, which is what made matt's issue return. I reported that, but don't know that its fixed yet. They should know how to fix it though, as its the same issue I opened a ticket for last time we had the problem.

It might have been those updates that fixed your lag bob. A different browser or disabling a certain plugin could clear that up - I've never seen it be laggy that I can recall.

Thanks for looking into this again

Sometimes it's laggy for me when using backspace to delete characters. It's not laggy when typing though.

Yep, it's fixed now. Thanks!

I'll bump this when the next update is applied :D
