start of my logitech G15 mod which is going to be painted gloss white along with some carbon fibre.
parts from mould. still need a flat back and then lacquer along with cutting the other button holes out but as it stands now. just a shame the weave is not very straight but ive not used carbon fibre for a year or so now

also need to paint the other bits gloss white and lacquer then but should be finished tomorrow. i also want to change the surface mount LED's to white or blue but im unsure as to what size they are so they will have to wait till i find out

its not so much the carbon fibre i find as the resin. i sometimes forget about it a leave it to long before applying the next coat of resin and when it drys it leaves a waxy coat on the surface which stops the next layer sticking so well. how i need another vacuum pump so i dont have to worry
altho after a day good few hours of messing with it im starting to get some shine and you can see the weave a little better now (not that its straight)

This has inspired me. Im thinking about doing my keyboard now :L found some CF wrap on fleabay for £3, pick myself a can of white paint up and it should be done for under a tenner =]

if your using normal car paint you need to use a plastic primer in order for it to stick to the plastic
also while waiting for my smd leds to turn up i got bored and painted the logitech logo black

Yeah, i would be using plastic primer. and car paint is easy to come by in my area so ill be using it. Not sure if i want to go for gloss or matt though =/ or hey, i might get mettalic. :L

well if you go matt paint as soon as you lacquer it it will become gloss unless you can get a matt lacquer off ebay. if your using cellulose car paint i would lacquer it as its not as hard wearing as 2k paint

your good to go with any then. i went for gloss just because the carbon was going to be a gloss finish i hope and also that theme for my new desk and pc i think.
i like the carbon fibre look and the white just makes it stand out more

im not to sure what they would have to say :)
the palm rest is driving me mad tho its so out of shape that i could not get the carbon to look right so i had start out with getting it at least some where near flat. its got 1-2mm of filler on it now and is pretty flat and in shape now i just got to make up my mind if i want a carbon one or if i want to paint it and add logos or something
the palm rest so far. right side sanded and the left side is still in guide coat. there a a few low marks in the centre which will need a little bit more filler work but other than that pretty much ready to go i think

also still waiting on my leds that i had to order from china because i could not find stock of them in the uk. also bought a logitech G15 rev 1 on the weekend so that could be my next carbon project or maybe something different
