PS3 controller on Xubuntu 11.10?

Just curious if anyone knows how to use a ps3 controller on ubuntu 11.10? I heard it automaticly works or something. But I tried to use it with Voxatron (new humble indie bundle game) and the analogs will make my guy shoot. But that's it. I can't reassign keys to it or anything.

Been digging the indie games lately but most of them feel they need a controller to be played right lol. Anyone know if there is a way to reassign the ps3 controller keys? I found someway on the ubuntu forums but it confused me.

Just wondering if anyone has some info.

I had looked but I didn't come up with anything good - from what I've seen in the past this stuff on Linux is either "it just works" or it can be pretty rudimentary. Meaning, it takes some rather manual tweaking, and if you get it right it can work alright.

Make any progress since the weekend?
