Evga Untouchables Rev0.1 testing on GTX285

I tested last weekend a Untouchables Rev0.1 10+3Phase mounted on a Evga GTX285 for the GPU.

The zombie card i used : The Evga Untouchables Rev0.1
10Phase Volterra 400amp + 3Phase DrMoss.

Very good tool for vga's that are only few Phases PWM and limited therefore for extreme OC, so we use external PWM and VRM, controllable with an EVbot.
also the main advantage is that we will NOT have OCP !!

first i tested it on Dice, to see how it reacts and then compare the score and Oc on LN² etc...
And must say :

Evga, DAMN SWEET JOB that you made this thing.

Next runs will be on LN² and hopefully take good places with the gtx285 on hwbot.

That looks so awesome, very impressive. Had you previously benchmarked the card on HWBot? If so, how much of a difference did it make?

Also, I love the cardboard topper for the GPU pot, very smart!

the previous scores on Dice are posted also above, and then the scores on LN² ;)

If you look on Hwbot, there are not many gtx285 that run above 1000Mhz GPU

modification from any kind is allowed, even if it's a Vmod or hardmod like i did, it's still a standard gtx580 that's modified.

Rat you can do the same thing if you took apart a GPU and attached it to another. Some people are even taking Motherboard power planes and attaching them to the GPU.

This is just another technique to find the absolute maximum of hardware.

Cards used for this aren't meant for regular use, its only purpose is hitting the highest hwbot scores possible I would bet. I doubt anyone running these advanced mods desolders, unless they plan to re-use the power plane on a different card, and even then the original card likely sees no further use.

Moving this to the volt mod section, alternative modding and guides is usually reserved for non-volt modding stuff. :)

I'd certainly desolder it, those things are quite rare and I have quite a few GPUs I'd use it on!

Like any competitive sport, having money and/or connections makes it easier, but those of us with neither can still make it. We just have to dig up a dead gtx480 and hack it up into a dedicated Power Monster :D
In theory the Untouchables will actually be sold retail, at least that's what I heard last.
I'm hoping it's more retail than the ROG Extender was/is.

Its one of those things that if you have to ask... You don't need it. LOL

It's also one of those things thats more rare than a unicorn, and to attain one, you have to sell your soul.

To better answer your question though, it's essentially an add on VRM card. Allowing higher current capability, higher sustained voltages, and the elimination of protection circuits.

Having said all that... I'd give my left one to aquire one of these.

Higher current, more stable current and power, cleaner signal and less rimple of power,
no OVP/OCP and less Vdrop between idle and load then stock VRM.

Still depends on how capable the GPU Core is...

This just eliminates any bottlenecks feeding that core.
