I’m about to order my maze2, and was wondering if anyone would recommend I get a peltier, in which case I would need to get a maze2-1. I saw a pelt for the first time about a week ago, but I’m not sure if I should get one. I’m kinda worried about condensation. Should I get one, or should I just go with plain water?

Thanks :)

eh?

it all depends on what you want. if you want subzero temps then get a pelt or two. my watercooling setup keeps the temps 3-4 degrees above room tempature

Get the maze 2-1 but I wouldnt get pelts straight away.

That block gives you the option once youve got some extra experience.

Running peltiers is allot more complex and difficult than straight watercooling...you have to power them..insulate against condensation...and one mistake might kill your CPU.

I think jumping straight in with a peltier will be a recipie for disaster unless you read loads and learn allot before you start.

Id run just plain water for a month or two..learn about peltiers some more..then fit them if you think its worth the effort.

I jumped into watercooling with a pelt on my first try, but I did months of research and reading on those subjects before I did it. Also, running a pelt is expensive due to having to buy a separate psu just for the pelt. The 172 watt pelt that you would need for an amd machine operates at 24.6 volts, which rules out using any kind of computer psu. The pelt psu that I'm using cost me about $150 shipped. Now you might be able to get 1 cheaper on e-bay, but I bought a new 1 because if it goes out, basically you lose your proc due to heat in a very short while. One other thing to consider is the radiator that you will use with your system and make sure that it can dump not only the heat from the proc, but also the heat from the peltier.
