I bought two sets of these for a total of 16 mb for my new build and I can't tell if there being used properly.G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866.

If I looked at the right place they showed up as 1600.

How and where can I check this and compare it to my exact readings?

Download CPU Z and check this tab:

Mines reading 798.2

Thats not even 1600. I have 1833 in there, what could be wrong?

DDR stands for Double Data Rate. This means it transfers two bits per clock cycle. So the "1600 MHz" is effective and would be 800 MHz as the actual frequency.

Your 798.2 MHz is correct.

You just have to go into the BIOS and set the right speed. Just round up, motherboards aren't perfect, so right now it's set at 1600. Just have to change the setting.
