games on linux

quick 2 questions!
1) Do most pc games today run on linux?
2)If they don't do they run just as well on windows emulators?

games that are made for windows pc's won't run on linux without an emulater such as wine or something. i've never used them, but i know they aren't as stable as windows itself. someone else might be able to give you a heads up with more info on windows emulators and how well programs run on them.

as far as games built for linux go, you can go to www.linuxcentral.com and look at their software to see the list of commercial titles that they have for sale, including quake 3 for certain.posting in the alt. os forum might wield more responses :)

If you already have Linux installed, then you could try to download WineX, which is just Wine w/ some DirectX stuff in it. It's aparantly very good.
