1gb and 2gb card SLI????

I currently have a single 1GB EVGA GTX 560ti. I want to go SLI, do I need to get another 1GB card or would it possible to get a 2GB Card?

And if it is possible, would I see a noticeable performance increase compared to 2x 1 GB cards???

So basically, will it work? and is it worth(performance-wise) the extra $30 for a 2gb card?
