I love mods like that. They usually lead to new ideas and they're just plain fun. Speaking of ghetto (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33201). ...never killed any of my components but I didn't use it for too long. :D

Man, you people know not what 'ghetto' means. This is what happens when one breaks the fan nub off of his CPU socket.

Yes, those are rubber bands holding it down. It kept my old athlon 1 Ghz at an ice cold 63 degrees C.

Well, It did stay on... Every couple of months I'd swap rubber bands(which required pulling the mobo) because they would get brittle and break.

Just because it stayed on didn't mean that it worked. Did you catch what temp it stayed at? 63 degrees

I eventually moved it to a home-made case so that the mobo could lie flat. Helped the temps a little, but not much.
