View Full Version : air bubble probs......weird....
ok i got my watercooling setup not tooo long ago cut the tubeing to the appropriate length and then began to fill it with water then when i all the air out of it i ran it for a while for leak testing and i didnt find any leaks so i put it in my computer and it worked perfect BUT now after a couple weeks i hear air bubbles going thru my pump...... i just dont get it its not leaking water anywhere no place in my comp is wet or even damp so where are the bubbles comeing from or what i could do to stop this from happening???
thanx for any replys :)
Bob, even after you burp out the obvious air introduced from putting your system together, there are still gases suspended in the water. They take a while to settle out. When I first did my system, I encountered the same thing for almost a month. My T fitted burp/fill tube water level kept going down and air was in its place. I just kept adding water and it tapered off to me needing to add about 1 oz. of water in the past month. Now it barely goes down at all in a two week period. It was none-the-less interesting to see how long the whole process dragged on.

hmmm i tried adding a burp tube once..... ended up sucking air thru it so i gave up on it... what am i misssing in this whole burp tube idea?

You need to keep the water level in your burp tube higher than the "T" fitting for it to work without it injecting air into your system. Just refill the tube coming off of your "T" as needed to keep the water level up.
i'v been thinking about maybe getting a resivoire (spelling?) would that get rid of the air bubbles?

The reservoir will definitely eliminate entrained air in the system, that's why I went with a reservoir. If you leave a 12" or so length of hose coming off of your burp "T", it will also act as a very small reservoir. If you have a full tower case, then run a reservoir but if you have a smaller case, then stick with the burp tube method. That way you can keep from having to mount anything externally.

a res sounds like a easy way. you could also try a refill tube setup like the swiftec design. apparently it works really well.
