I found this little tidbit of info about the Abit TH7-II.....Is that your test system for your watercooled PIV?

If so, go here (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q1/020225/p42666-04.html) and you can see how they did the voltage mod so that they could pump up to 1.88 V to the core :)

They show the voltage regulator needed to be modified and if you look really close (and know how to read the color code) the resistances needed for the mod

Hope this can help you a little bit to get to the 3.0GHz......

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I'm using the Asus P4TE. I had a TH7II for a while but something was wrong with it so I sold it. There should be a way to do this with the P4TE also, but I haven't bothered to look into it. I may sell the board and try another TH7.

TC I'm shure if you told me the make and number on the voltage regulator I could dig up a voltmod for it. If your interested let me know.

Well so far I haven't found a chip that looks like any of the other regulator IC's I've seen. I'll look at it later tonight and see. Give me some brands to look for.

Tim wanna try a crazy experiment? Take off the IHS of the P4, expose the core and see how good the Swiftech block is :D

TC look for brands like C-Media, ICS, IC works, Winbound and Phaselink. Write down the numbers on the chip and I can tell you if its the right one. If your lucky there is a voltmod for the IC or if the data sheet is clear we can go from that.
