So my friend is somewhat computer savy, and turns to me for advice once in a while but has me stumped, Windows Home Server 2011 supports only x86-64 hardware. How do i KNOW that a proc or mobo is x86-64 hardware? Other wise specs seem pretty weak, 1.3 or 1.4 Ghz... really thats all?

go get a CPU-Z and identify the code name, of the cpu(of your choice or which comes to your mind), like propus or deneb for phenom ii and like wolfdale for C2Duos... then look here, these cpus all support x86-64(older than this is not supported)

Intel

i, myself encountered the same problem and tried to install win server 2008 r2 on a pentium M laptop(dothan) which is very old and is not supported...
