just installed f@h on a 633mhz compaq cpu with (i'm guessing) 8mb vid card and 128mb of ram.
problem is it crashes and displays this .dll file when i view display or fullscreen (status)..
but if i dont view it and just install the program, i think it is still running because motherboard monitor tells me my cpu% is 100% and i do not have anything else running in the background.
any ideas? could be a vid card driver issue?

core 65 is still running. try to get updated driver. whenever you show graphics of protien in fah it slow you down best to minimize to get it to go faster.
I get that as well, I just run F@H minimised and use FoldMonitor to watch it.
Just run the console version.

running the console version on this machine.
Tried to use fold monitor but couldnt figure it out.
I unzipped the folder in programfiles/fold@home folder and could not figure out how to run it.
I'll just re-read the installation again.
There is a problem with some video cards. It's an open GL problem. There may be a driver update for your card that could help out with this. I have this problem on one system and that's exactly what it is, but there is not update for me. You might see if Compaq has an updated driver.
People with Voodoo cards will also experience problems while displaying the client, but there is no fix for them as far as I know.
You may have the perl version of fold monitor. If so then you could download the .exe version. The perl version is listed first.

thx guys,
i suspected it was an opengl problem, and compaq website has only updates for winxp. No biggie, i'll just run the console or re-dl the foldmonitor..
cheers
you were correct, i dl'd the perl version, doh!

thx:p Check Radio Shacks website. I found a lot of info there for a Compaq laptop I had when I couldn't find it anywhere else. Good Luck.:)
