losing hope with radeon 8500

i just bought this card and tried to run it on my system:
mobo is asus A7V-VM VIA KT 133 CPU is 1 ghz athlon and 512 mb pc-133 memory
computer runs all kind of benchmarktests with the new card with good results(3D mark 2oo1 is 5500)but when try to play 3D games the screen goes black and onlysound works.
tried to download newest drivers from ati and via but still nothing
somebody might can help me

remember to install the via 4in1's (specifically, the AGP driver) AFTER you install the vid card drivers, and remember to un-install the ati drivers before installing new ones, i've seen this cause problems before....

ditto, really the best thing to do is reinstall windows when you make a major upgrade like video card or mobo.....
