Also if you have it already, how much did you pay for the joystick and controls and what not ?
My brother plays the hell out of it. Start small with a decent joystick $15-50. If you like the game, you will need better controls. Pretty simple :)

MS Flight looks like quite the bleh product. The older FSX seems much more like an enthusiast FS than MS flight. MS flight doesn't include all locations and you have to purchase everything as freeware. You can take FSX out of the box and fly NY-Tokyo. MS Flight just has a very low power civilian plane and an island when you get it.

Since there isn't much demand for flight sims you can't blame MS in principle for trying a different revenue model, having said that they will probably be screwing people for DLC.

I have had a couple Logitech Extreme 3D joysticks for years. One with force feedback & one without. Both have held up well and they are still in use.
They no longer offer the FFB model, but still have the other for $30.

I think you two posted damn near the same joystick xD but they look legit maybe ill pick one up :O! i still need my second video card to have settings maxed in eyefinity. But i think i will purchase the full game :O
I have the Saitek X52 Pro Flight System. I haven't really used it much though, but lots of buttons!!! :)

I have FSX... love it, just haven't played it in a long time. If this game is awesome I will get it.
Joystick: Get one with a decent amount of buttons. Its really easy to run out of buttons, so many things an aircraft needs for controls lol...

I'm not entirely up to date on this game, but if they restrict DLC (ie don't allow for any 3rd party add-ons) this thing is going to die a slow painful death. Add-ons are what made FSX popular (or as some would say, bearable). Other than DLC, if they clean up the code and make it run half decent, I think it could be fun. Right now though, it's a neutered "flight sim."

I've being playing around with MS Flight the past week & like it. Been having a hard time getting the bi-plane softly onto a runway though. lol
It is pretty neat for a free game. But the DLC pricing is horrendous. I would only buy if you are really serious in wanting the few other planes and other islands.
