since i didnt know where i should put this (either here or in Msoft)

i thought this would be a more appropriate section since it deals with the firewall /routing deal.

i'm looking for some real to life experiences with people who use it in a corporate world. has anyone or does anyone currently use it? how does it compare to using a traditional appliance or a linux firewall?

doing some research on this topic, i need some input :rain:

at my office we're looking at options, right now we have a sonicwall NSA 3500 and i'd perfer using an ASA or if we can afford it, a Palo Alto firewall

note, i'm looking at a PA-500 and a asa 5512 as comparison

Have you looked at fortinet as well? They have nice SOHO firewalls that may be up your alley. I would avoid FF as being your firewall just from the hardware factor alone; a failed FF box means reinstalling a server + reconfiguring FF. A SOHO box would be RMA'ing the system and reloading your config.

which is why i'm needing a defense for not using it :p

i'll have to dig more into fortinet as well, they look like something that could as well be a considerable item. we're not looking at soho btw, we're running over 500 users and a hefty pipe of internet

Our state's public safety department uses Forefront. That and Symantec EP are the most popular that are in use.
