thats a lot of things checked, and win98se has bad mem management, and kazaa is a beast. new OS and he will do much better.

Uncheck a lot of the checked items there partner. You should'nt need all those programs.

Windows memory management is horrible, always has been, even if you were to disable almost everything at startup, you'd see the memory dissappear into the abyss we call "windows".

The problem is that windows doesn't like to give up memory, even if it's not being used, it'll still continue to keep other programs from using it, which eventually results in poor performance and even lockups.

You'd think Microshaft would have fixed this by now but no, so we rely on third party software to do it for us, and they can do it pretty good also.

If you'd like to see a significant increase in free memory as well as lower swapfile usage and an all around better performing OS memory wise, download the program called "Cacheman", you'll definetly see a difference in the way windows utilizes memory and cache's. I think everyone who runs windows should have this program no matter how much memory they have, it'll suprise you just how much windows wastes.

If you want the program, you can DL it off their site,
