Question of core architecture?

First to the mods if this is not in the right place I apologize but I didn't feel it pertained only to AMD even though I'm asking more about them than Intel. Please place it where it should be.

This question arose from a discussion that was occuring in THIS thread.

My question is there somewhere that we can find out how the cores in our chips are positioned. The reason I ask is I have an AMD 1090T X6 would like to know the layout as it will effect my choice of air coolers.

Well the core is a bit more square than the IB but the orientation is another thing.
