View Full Version : Philips AE XP drivers?
Under XP, I used the WDM drivers but they don't allow me the option to pass-through a DD/DTS signal out the SPDIF out. Are there any other drivers for XP that will allow me to send DD/DTS signal out the SPDIF out? If not, this card is useless if you are running XP.

I dunno what Philips is doing with their drivers. They haven't updated their drivers page in months while only supplying updated ones via Windows Update. I get kind of nervous letting Windows automated update do all the work.
Found some drivers here:

Some beta drivers here (link provided by someone at ARS):

Dark Illusion, nice sound card; was looking into getting a 2496 but went with the AE instead (I'm cheap). :)

Yea their main drivers page last update was 10.17.01, whereas I've had about ~5 drivers update via Windows Update since then. =\
I don't like beta testing drivers. One beta driver after another and soon your system will become unstable somewhere. I wanna own a system that doesn't need a fresh install for 5 years=)
You should've gone w/ the 2496 instead. Soundcards last forever as long as they get driver support. Sound fidelity of high-end cards kick the crap outta consumer cards. If you need 3D sound just pop in a second soundcard of your choice.
Thanx for the comments...I've had it w/ the AE card for my HTPC and will save for a 2496 (or should I look at the 410?). All I need is a clean DD/DTS pass-through under XP using a coaxial interface.
