View Full Version : Easy case mod painting
I got some chrome paint from the Auto store and was thinking about using it to unlock my chip. It didn't work so I made my case faceplates match with my case. Pretty easy to do.
Heres a pic
I just used some "Instant Chrome" tonite on a PSU, and the coverage was really crappy. Looks like your paint came out pretty good.
BTW, you might want to consider posting this in Alternative Modding.
I can't delete the post. If a mod would like to delete it or move it to Alternative modding I would appreciate this.
I just thought that this should be in cases. I stand corrected.

Huh? You can use paint to unlock the chip? Are you talking about the multipler?
Darrenct I can't find anything around my area like a conductive pen so I thought that I could get a needle and take the paint and make traces with it. The problem is it's not conductive enough and I used wax to fill in the traces.

Oh, OK. I couldn't find conductive pen anywhere either. Some of the websites around here sell unlocking kits though. That's probably the easiest way to go.
BTW, Your case looks pretty nice too.

wax? you sure it can hold the heat well? if you mean candle wax, that wont work. u need like super gule, and radioshack.com will have a nice condutive pen for about 8 bucks.

You can use a window defroster repair kit to do the bridges and fill in the traces with epoxy.

super glue is cheaper, and not so messy.
