Tell him to get a Tualatin compatible board based on the 815e B-stepping chipset so he can upgrade later. He can pick up a Gigabyte GA-6OXT for only $78 over on Pricewatch. A Shuttle AE25 is even less, $75. Both can be overclocked if he's so inclined. He can pay $110+ for an Abit ST6 board but I can't see why he would want to.
