1st post.

I'm letting my Atlas 10K II drive go. I've picked up an Atlas 10K III.

Someone has offered me a trade of 512 Ecc Registered Sdram.

I've read that performance drops with Registered ecc ram - but have yet to read a review confirming this.

Will Ecc Registered ram OC the same as regular ram? Does the probability of a higher overclock increase or decrease with ECC Registered.

Thanx

oh Btw - will 7ns clock higher than 7.5 ns.

ECC ram does not typically OC well at all. It is made more for stability than raw speed. In regards to 7.5ns vs 7ns - One will not OVERCLOCK better than the other based on ns's, it's just that the lower the ns's, the faster the ram.

It depends on how far you want to OC. I have 512MB ECC
Crucial SDRAM in my old Asus P3BF. It's 133 MHz rated and
I had not problem getting it up to high 140s or low 150MHz
depending on the settings.
