2700 and 2400 together?

I have a 8KHA+ board and a stick of 256Mb Corsair 2700 RAM. I was wondering if there was much difference between the corsair 2400 and 2700 apart from the speed rating? Could I run a syick of 2700 with 2400? ...I bought this memory cus its CAS 2

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think since they are backwards compatible, you should be able to use them at the same time.
Don't know if you can increase them to different speeds and if they'll work together then.

A PC2400 and a PC2700 will both work perfectly at PC2400. However, if you push it further, the PC2400 stick may limit how far it will go.

Its like running PC133 and PC100 - they'll run at PC100 fine, but possibly not at PC133.

Dram chips are made in batches then are picked over and tested. The chips on both sticks are likely the same but the chips that weren't stable at 2700 were at 2400 and used for that build.
