View Full Version : clear case
I got a little prob. I just got done building a new clear case. and after I glued it I saw some white marks near the seams. from the glue. how dow I get rid of this? I tried everything. can anyone help?
may be you can try using a Qtip with nail polish remover. what kind of glue did you use?
I used weld 3 it looks like a white haze. I tried rubbing compound but that did not work.
Acetone will remove the glue, but then you'd have to probably re-glue it again. Maybe just screw it on?

i would just leave it alone. i think acetone works slower than the weld on or other chemicals, cause the guy i talked to said i could glue stuff together with it no problem. it would just take longer. i think the acetone would just melt/warp the surrounding areas even more. just be happy that it stays together and that you don't need to put screws in it.
can you post pictures of it? i'm about to build a real case this time. my first was out of .125 or smaller maybe stuff i got for free at the hardware store. want to go a little bigger and change some of the design of it a little.

But screws are sooo much cooler! :D
I personally avoid glue due to it's completely permanent nature. It also has a tendancy to fog up the glue areas if you apply it incorrectly. Choosing the right glue takes more time than it would to just make the case for screw-mounting.

Screws look cheap and lame, gule if proprelly done is a much nicer finish. Test the acestone on a scrap piece of plexi and see if it eats it. You may also want to try paint thinner or citrus degreaser.
