pc2100 at 2.0 normal latency

i had one stick of 256 in my pc running at 2.0 turbo put anther stick of 256 so i would have 512 total and booted up and got the windows protection error
tried it at 2.0 normal same thing

so i put it on by spd and it booted up fine

the problem is is seems a little slower now with 512 at by spd
than256 at 2.0 turbo

any advice should i up the memory voltage to take care of this problem

Have you tried burning in the new memory? How about a test of the memory with a program? Sorry, I can't remember the name of the program. Hope this might help.

edit --> Do you have a board that is known to have problems when certain combinations of memory slots are filled? You might look for your board in the mobo section to see if this kind of problem is known over there. If not it never hurts to ask.
