I am currently using a Gigabyte 8SRX m/b with P4 1.6A@ 2.3 Ghz. I have the option to select a different fsb speed for the CPU and Memory. That is, CPU is selectable from 100 Mhz to 200 Mhz FSB. I notice that I can change the reading for memory too.

My question is

Is there a difference in performance if I o/c my P4 to 143 FSB and change the Memory setting to 166 FSB compared to my current setting of 143/143 ?

Appreciate any comments or help!
:)

Yes. Your memory bandwidth will go up, but not by much (maybe 15%). If your memory can take it, then go for it. If you start getting errors, set the memory clock back and don't feel as though you're missing out. You may want to run a memory and CPU benchmark like sandra at both speeds and see if anything is gained. Good luck!
