Here is a good review of PC2700 DDR.

This is some of what they have to say about Winbond:

...the maximum FSB with most aggressive settings of 2-2-2-5-1 that Winbond DDR333 can go is increased to 200Mhz. When memory timings are auto detect by SPD, the maximum FSB that Winbond DDR333 can go is 217Mhz and memory performance are further improved. Winbond W942508BH-6 is certainly one of the better memory chips out there but they are hard to find in the DIY market so i presumed they are catered more for OEM market...

I do not know where to buy Winbond memory at, though. neither pricewatch nor newegg have PC2700 Winbond listed.

From that review, though, it looks like my next RAM purchase will be Samsung or Corsair.

Yep, the samsung stuff is rating the best from what I have read so far.

Winbond stuff used to be "generic computer show xxxx" So, it's probably not even sold under the winbond name very often.
