How to do a memory check ?

As the title says, what program will let me do a memory check to see if it isn't damaged or anything ? Thanks

Memtest, do a search for it in google i forgot the link

what basicaly the memtest will tell me about the memory?
are there any other programs to test the memory? i mean, not just a report program, but one that will in fact test the memory? any other ones?
