Kind of curious, What is the largest capacity drive out there (make, model, website, price). Also, what are the pros and cons to having such a large storage device (save for the HD crash and Window$ partitioning).

Segate Barracuda 180 181.6 GB Ultra160 SCSI 7200 RPM 7.4 ms avg MSS&W $1800.00 $1300 on price wach. Huge price, slow seek time, noisy, big hole in wallet if you drop. Just go for a couple of 80GB's This is the biggest I could find. Oh yea it might not fit in a 3.5 inch bay. Hope this helped.

For IDE 160 GB seems to be the limit now. A few 120 IBMs would do nicely on a raid though.

Largest IDE drive is : Maxtor 160GB/5400rpm Ultra ATA/133 Internal Hard Drive D540X $ 275.00

This is at www.dirtcheapdrives.com .

Big , fat and slow . Would still be good for raw storage and slower programs ............... I'd get one if someone gave me the $ :D
