I just hooked up my new comp and installed Windows XP, but for some reason it assigned F: to my harddrive and C: to my zip drive, has anybody else had this problem/quirk?

Here's the setup I have

Abit TH7II RAID

IDE 1 Primary: DVD
IDE 1 Second: NONE
IDE 2 Primary: CD-RW
IDE 2 Second: ZIP
IDE 3 RAID Primary: HD1
IDE 3 RAID Second: NONE
IDE 4 RAID Primary: HD2
IDE 4 RAID Second: NONE

is there some setting in the winXP install that I can change to change the drive letter? I didn't look to closely the first time..

Hey just thought of something, could I remove the zip, install windows XP, and then put the zip back in? I wonder if that would work..?

I think it might be because your harddisk is on one of the RAID channels.

Unless the HD being F: is causing havoc I would just forget it and ignore it.

I have the same setup except for a Zip drive and all my drive letters are fine. HD1=C, HD2=D, DVD=E, CD-RW=F. You can most likely change the drive letters. If you really want to take out the Zip and re-install, I am sure it would work. Changing drive letter would probably be easiest!

Start, Programs, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management. That would be the place to change them, I believe you can change the Zip from there too....
