OK--

im pretty sure this is how my setup's gonna be, just lookin for a little advice/comments:

instead of getting 1 WD 120gb special edition HDD (8mb cache, 7200rpm), i was gonna get 2 Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm HDD's and run them in RAID 0 w/ an Epox 8k3a+ mobo..

--but--

since i live in houston, near Directron (one of overclockers.com's sponsors), i decided to look on their site for stuff...i came out w/ this:

spending about $40 more (i guess it's all equal considering speed/shipping costs etc), i can get 2 WD 80gb special edition HDD's (never knew they made these too; thought they only had 100 & 120gb models) and run them in RAID 0...

obviously, i'll invest 50 bucks or so in DriveImage so nothin goes wrong, but whaddya think about that?? gonna be fast, huh?

that is definitely the set-up, but the 8mb cache puts those puppies about 40-50$ more than the 2mb counterparts, then you have to double that for RAID that's maybe $100 for something that's not that much of an improvement. I agree, they are the fat cats, so if you have the money why not?
