I have 256mb corsair xms3000 ram. I had it running at 423mhz with my p4 1.6a @ 142 fsb with 4:6 divider. Is 423mhz correct? Has anyone else got it higher? 2-3-3-5 1t command.

CPU speed is good.. but your memory can go much higher... MUCH higher.. 166MHz atleast.. so I would say it's not a good memory OC.. but your CPU is very good..

What do you mean it can reach 166mhz? its running at 211mhz. For some reason i cant push the cpu any higher than 142fsb and 4:6 divider. Even at 2.9v and decreased timings, the ram just wont go higher. 2.9v got 1mhz more that 2.7v. Did i get crap ram?
But when i go to the next memory divider down, i can hit much higher cpu fsb.

ok.. When I mean your memory should be able to hit 166MHz bus speed, that's 166MHz bus speed for the memory.. but since it's DDR that means it's running a 333MHz.. And you P4 bus speed which is quad pumped would be 666MHz.. now your CPU maybe limiting your overclock. But I will tell you this.. if you memory is topping out a 142MHz.. well then it's crap.. because even my PC2100 can hit 176MHz.. and more questions just ask...

No, i had my ram up to 211.5 mhz bus speed and since its DDR, it was running at 423mhz. When i said 142mhz, i was talking about FSB of the cpu and with a 4:6 divider, that makes 423mhz for my ram.

overclocker456-

zck250 is right. P4S533 is a little different with your P4B266.
It has 4:6 mem ratio, so FSB 142 means that 142/4*6 = 213 and double rate 426 MHz for memory.

That means if zck250 hit FSB 166, Quadpumped CPU is 666 MHz and also if he use 4:6 mem ratio, 166/4*6=250 and double rate DDR500 (<-- He may need DDR400 with 2.9V to reach it).
