Ok, I know that SMP machines require a large amount of power. So with me getting a new dual board soon Im looking at this aspect of it as well. My question here is would this mod here

Dual PSU (http://www.burningissues.net/how_to/power/psu.htm)

Work well for this? How well would it do? or should I just get a new psu?

Wondering if I should post this in the SMP section too?! LoL

Well, if you used the 2nd PSU just to power drives and fans it might work. You couldn't parallel it to the motherboard like that though, which is probably what needs the extra power anyway. A dual Palomino system draws around 70 watts per CPU alone, not to mention 40 or so for an AGP card, more for the other cards - so the PSU powering the mobo would still need to be pretty beefy. I would play it safe and get a 431 or 550w enermax PSU. Trying to do this with a dual-CPU motherboard seems too sketchy to me and you might be asking for trouble. There is a lot of room for hardware problems when two CPUs are involved.
