I am looking for a DVD burner. My primary Video DVD player is a Playstation 2. I would like it to write faster that 1x. Have you guys heard anything about anything that is up and coming.
writing 1x DVD is the same as writing 9x CD (speed)
the hp200i seems to be good, a friend of mine bought this oen!
you should think about which one to take DVD R-/RW-/R+/RW+ and so one ther isn't a standard yet!!!
and you should check if your other devices can play the burned dvd's like R+. not every standalone dvd player or whatever device it might be, can read the dvd r's youve burned yourself!

I was just going to say that there's no standard yet, so don't be dissappointed if your burned DVDs only play in the burner itself.
But having a storage media that's much bigger than cdr or cdrw is still nice, maybe not $300+ nice, but nice.

I've also been waiting for the buy a dvd burner but it is just way too early to buy one. HP has a very good one out and I think sony has a 2.5x but I could be wrong.

the newer pioneer one is supposed to be super reliable from what a few friends have told me. and that one will work in a ps2.

the new pioneer is the best i think, but at the moment i think they're all crap. If you want long term compatibility: then wait.

Yea, I think that I am going to wait too.
