My mobo sopports ATA/100. I found a hard drive by maxtor but its ATA/133. Would it work liike a ata/100 drive or would it be normal.

It would, I belive, be at ATA 100 speeds...

yeah jared is correct....it will work at ATA/100 speeds.... There shouldn't be any problem :D

A side note: My Maxtor (ATA133) benchmarks the same on an ATA100 or 133 controller so don't run out and buy an ATA133 card or mobo thinking it will improve HD speed. :)

AFAIK, there's only like 2-3% difference betwin 133 and 100, so I don't think u'll even feel it. Go ahead w/ it

You will also have to check that your board will recognize the drive correctly . Some have new bios revisions in which this is one of the features . One example is the newer Epox 8kha+ bios files .
But I must admit that correctly reporting the drive won't make it any faster.
