how to create a ram drive?

my friend has 1.5 gigs of ddr. i told him he should put counterstrike into it and he agreed. how do u make a ram drive?

http://www.superspeed.com/ramdisk.html has a ramdrive I've used that goes multigigs in size and works in WindowsXP. It allows you to save an image to a designated hard drive and autolaods it so that at next reboot all your data or game point is still in your ramdrive...Mark

With Linux, you need to compile the kernel with support for loopback device (althlough I aussume you are using WIndoze)
