ok, got this almost 3 years old WD 10g hdd as my backup, however, it is acting really really strange recently, ok, so I reformatted it, and tried to install w2k, cannot, an error message shown up, "Drive is corrupted, cannot install." ok, so I check the hdd with the WD software, no error found whatsoever...?_? just for the hell of it, I reformatted it again, and installed the 98, to my amazement, it worked... what'z goin' on?

That is strange. 2K can handle a boot partition that size and larger. NT has a 4gb limit on boot drive during install and then with 3rd party software you could expand it. At any rate, did you format with NTFS and then during the file copy it gacked that error message? If the drive is 3yrs old, I would do a low-level format with the WD software and then try 2k again.

Well, if windows 98 gets installed on it correctly, then it means its not an NTFS formatted partition. Try repartitioning it. Or better yet, let w2k do it(I aent sure if it does though but 98 did)!
