Basicly what Corsair does is test every one of thier memory chips. Too make sure that they can run at the advertised speed. Some chips run faster than others. The chips that don't quite cut it get tossed in with the PC2100 stuff. PC2700 that does real real well get upgraded and sold as PC3000. There is no PC300 spec so they set the eprom same as PC2700 but they are garunteeing that the PC3000 will overclock to 185MHz @ cas2-3-3-T1
Corsair can and does change what chips they use on what from time to time so if you want to be sure ask before you buy, of course if you are buying online unless the revision number is posted you won't know for sure as it may be old stock.
