What do you think about mixing brands of ram on the same board?
Let's say a 128 stick of 2100 corsair with a 256 stick of 2100 mushkin.

I have a 256 stick of crucial and a 128 stick of hynix and it runs real nice.

i've mixed many different brands of RAM throughout my life, and I've never had any problems. Just make sure that each stick of RAM is good, and you should be fine.

I'm currently using a 256mb PC3000 Mushkin with a 256mb PC2100 Crucial. Rock stable except that I can only run them at CAS2.5 w/ the most aggressive memory timings. I can relax the timing a bit to run at CAS2. (system in sig)

Yes, you'd only get the lower value, I believe. And if one could do 160 and the other only 150 fsb, you'd only get to 150. But really, unless the chips come from the same batch, you can't be sure that even two sticks from the same manufacturer will perform the same (and maybe not even if you get them from the same batch).
