thats right the new clawhammer spec 45 amps for the +5V rail..

I found only 3 PSU's in mass production that meet this rating.

enermax, pcpowerandcooling and TTGI

TTGI seems to have best ability to price ratio... what's your take guys?

The antec pp412 and 403(AMD) series do 45a too, i dont know if they are cheaper or not but I got my 403 for 80 bucks and my 5v stays between 4.92 and 5.01 w/ a Athlon 1.4@1.53. I dont want to get a clawhammer though, I like a little room on that 5v line for ocing and it just scares me. I'm having P4 dejavu as far as power consumption goes. Plus the integreated memory controller is looking to be a big bummer. good luck.

enermax, pcpowerandcooling and TTGINot all Enermax PSU fit this rating as a standard. Only there 550W AFAIK is rated this high. Remember to never generalize about any computer part since the newer members rely on all of us to give them reliable info:beer:

true not all models meet this and if I went this way I alreayd selected my psu - TTGI makes a 520watt psu with a +5v rail that does 70A!!! and it is only like 82 bucks...

that leaves you a lot for OC'ing!

Even if they need to meet the requirement, the Clawhammer are half a year away and by then PSU would have progressed alot.

If it's the TTGI TT500SS then it does 50A on the 5V line, not 70A.

Still looks like a very good PSU though.

the ttgi does 52A where the TurboCool 600 at pc power and cooling has 70A on their psu 5v rail

70A is some power. I just don't think I could ever bring myself to pay the price on a PCP&C as nice as they are though.

yeah but at 500watt RMS and 700watt Peak... you just may never need another psu!!

I am definitly going ttgi right now but that pcp&c got me salvating!

I also contacted a company in New Jersey who can custom build a PSU to any spec... but I don't knwo yet about their price which I imagine would be outrageous!
