Enhancements in v3.0

1. Testing of more than 2gb of memory is at last fixed (tested with 6Gb)
2. The infrastructure is to poll ecc error reporting chipset regisets, and the support has been done for some chipsets.
3. Uses dynamic relocation information records to make itself PIC instead of requiring 2 copies of memtest86 in the binary.
4. The serial console code does not do redundant writes to the serial port. Very little slow down at 9600 baud.
5. You can press ^l or just l to get a screen refresh, when you are connecting and unconnecting a serial cable.
6. Netbooting is working again
7. LinuxBIOS support (To get the memory size)
8. Many bugfixes and code cleanup

i second that Memtest86 is the best ram testing proggy.

It is very thorough, accurate, and easy to use.
it even tells u the specific error and where in the ram the error was located ie what bank and address.

i test all new ram with Memtest86

Well, I'm glad to reprt then that my memory (in sig) passed w/ flying colors. I just ran this new Memtest for 5hrs and 55 mins
and no errors were reported. If I'm not mistaken, it did 15 passes.

Was this long enough, or should I have left it on for a longer period of time?
