I dunno if this would help at all, but I paid $175 for my KingMax PC-2700, and $200 for my Corsair XMS 3000. (Canadian prices)

The Kingmax does the fastest timings at 179 FSB, while the Corsair does fastest timings at 176 FSB.

With a Different BIOS revision, the KingMax did 185 FSB fastest timings, and the Corsair did 180 FSB.

With the slowet timings the KingMax ran at 215 FSB while the Corsair did 219. (I didn't test for stability at these speeds, I just wanted to see how high of a wcpuid snapshot I can make)

I think I will go for some true PC-3200 when it comes out.

does samsung have any cas 2.0 pc2700? if so where can i find some?

no, but it can run at cas2.0 w/ a lil extra voltage. serach google.com theres a million reveiws and benchmarks stating this.

For OC'ing, what would be better, and what do prices on both look like?

Thx

As mentioned, Samsung PC2700. They rock. They seem to hit PC2700+ @ CAS2 well till a certain point. There's really no difference. The PC3200 maybe the companies PC2700 being able to run @ PC3200 CAS2.5

For the 2398473284723489237392463274632743286482346236487236432648224763284627427364238462346732^83792499 threads asking what DDr to get i have 2 words.. Samsung PC2700

I have my KingMax PC-2700, and Corsair XMS3000,, both of them do 179 FSB fastest timings 100% stable. what are the odds that a Samsung would do more? I'm considering a stick of Samsung, but I don't remember reading anything about how high people have gotten those sticks with absolute fastest timings.

Well theres reviews and alot of message boards ie. icrontic that have ppl prasieing this memory, Plus its REALLY Cheaper then corasir and performs better given the right mobo, and voltage.

I don't trust those website Reviews. Each of them have a different story.

I'm going to wait for some True CAS2 PC3200,, I'm in no hurry.

Yea thats a good idea :) but it'll probly be a few months hehe

Samsung have been proven to hit near 200fsb CAS2 on every review I've read. Now there is no coincidence there right? :D

CAS 2 is a lot different than 2-2-5-2 timings.
I really doubt it can do that.

My corsair 3000 does CAS2 185 FSB with default voltages(2-3-5-3), but with the timings maxed out, it does no more than 179 FSB at 3.2 volts.

Maxed out timings at 179 FSB outperforms 2-3-5-3 in my mobos. It also puts less stress on the system too.

Buy samsung ram. Basically lots of other companies use samsung chips for their ram so in the end you buying overpriced samsung ram. For example some of the newer corsair ram uses samsung chips.
