Please HELP me, a Q for P4T533-C w/ PC1066 owners

I just built a whole system together for my first time, this is what's in it
P4 2.4b @ 533FSB
P4T533-C 1003
2 x 256MB Kingston PC1066
O/S Win 2000 Pro

The Bios reads 512Mb at start up. My ram is set at 4x.When I set it at AUTO in bios it drops to 128MB. ASUS Probe utility software, under DMI Explorer- MAX. MEMORY MODULE SIZE 512MB, when I expend that, only MEMORY MODULE #2 recognizes 256MB Double bank. The rest reads 0's Does this make any sense?

Just for reference points I used pcpitstop.com and the results read that I only have 256 installed and that windows ram is 768MB. I moved thr rdran sticks around but i still get the same results.

IS there something wrong with my mobo or set up? PLEASE HELP. Thank you.

have you followed the memory installation instructions in the manual? pay attention to the memory configuration.

Sure did

I did both configurations, and I switched the ram sticks as well.

Try new beta bios at ftp.asuscom.de, at least this bios can let my samsung 40ns 256mb memory boot up to windows screen.

Are you using CRIMMs in the empty slots?

I am in a similar situation.

I didn't insert the "blank" ram modules as spacers or whatever they are called. If this isn't your prob. then i dunno
