I'm building a new system and I was thinking of buying 256mb Corsair PC3000 CL2 but it costs 211$CAN (roughly 138$US) while a 256mb Corsair PC2700 CL2 costs only 178$ (116$US). I know RAM is important and all but it looks like I'll end up spending more on it than on my CPU or Mobo!!!

My question is will a PC3000 CL2 stick run much faster than the PC2700 CL2 stick or is it just a question of luck? (ie a good stick of PC2700 CL2 will outrun an average PC3000 CL2 stick)

Also dont you all remember when we were whining against RDRAM because it was SOOOOOOOOOO expensive? Looks like good RDRAM is cheaper than good DDR!

The difference between the two is that the pc3000 memory has been tested to hit at least 366mhz while the pc2700 has been tested to do at least 333mhz.

You can't go wrong w/ either one unless your planning on running at 200/200 or higher. In which case the pc3000 will be better for you,
