View Full Version : Best 19" Monitor
Hey i am going to buy a new computer soon. I will be looking for a Monitor between $200-$300. I will be using a Geforce 4 ti4400 video card if that makes a difference. What are your opinions?

Viewsonic makes really good monitors, i dont know about the price though, might wanna look into those. You might also want to chk out NEC monitors, they're pretty good too, mine is a 17" flat screen and i love it, didnt pay too much either.
"best" 19inch monitor?
Don't even think about to get one of those "best + 19 inch"for only $200 to $300.
Keep in mind, Sony makes the best monitor.
And it will be a waste for using a Geforce4 Ti4400 on a cheap monitor.
For a good 19 inch monitor, anything below $400 won't be even close to "best".
All my 19 inch monitors are at least above $500(i mean trinitron monitors)
Get one of those, you won't be disappointed.
I use a Samsung SyncMaster 955DF (19" DynaFlat) and it's a really nice monitor, I love it and highly recommend it. It's a very popular monitor from what I hear. I also have a 21" Sun Monitor (Sony Trinitron) with dual input (VGA & 13w3). It's really nice as well... you can find them on eBay for about what you want to spend. I got mine for free though, got to love working for Sun Microsystems and having family working there as well :D

I agree w/ Morbid. The Samsung 955DF is a very good monitor. I got one for a customer and used it for a few days. I have a sony and it is hard to tell much of a difference.
This is a good price and vendor

The best way I've seen is to use PriceGrabber (http://wwww.pricegrabber.com). Compare by dot pitch, size, brand, and price. Real good.

I just bought a epson e790 on the web and I am totally unsatisfied with the picture. It has .26 vertical and .22 horizontal pitch but it doesn't seem to show off lettering as crisply as I'd like. The best advice: actually go out and look at image quality on different monitors and then purchase that exact same model on the internet. Next time I'll follow my own advice. This monitor is going to be the second monitor in my two display setup. But now of course I have to save up for a good monitor.

My Philips 109S20 is doing a good job and it cost just under 300$ (note that monitors are very expensive along with everything else in communist regimes like Sweden where a was unfortunate to be born so for you that might be 250$)
The Sony of course is that king but for this price I must say you'll get a really good monitor from Philips.
They have of course the brilliance series for those who require better quality but then you might aswell buy a Sony.
