or you can read here what the weatherman says about the new features:

Electron Microscope III v1.7.6 (Update)
What's New (06/11/2002)
Released version 1.7.6 of EM III. New features:

EM now remembers your Work Unit points Total.
New EMJPG.DLL so image capture can save to jpg type picture file.
Added Protein Capture button for protein images.
Auto save option that saves a copy of the current.xyz file for your records.
Display the protein image if available in your HTML stats file.
Choose the size of your HTML protein image displayed.
Added new fields to config info screen.
Moved the "Can't finish WU in time" image so you can read the date/time stamp.
Started this version history file to be included in all new updated versions.

When EM starts your work unit score will be displayed. The score has to be recovered at least once for this to work properly. New users will see the five zero's when starting. I also fixed the work unit display so the error messages only stay up for about 3 seconds and then put the old score back. This should make those of you who use the automatic mode happy as you will (I hope) not see those messages when the latest score can not be recovered from Stanford.

I have included a new DLL that saves images in jpg format. This is to support the HTML stats feature to show an example of the proteins if you choose that selection. I have also included a "blank" image which is used as a default image when the protein image isn't found in the stats folder. If the "blank" image isn't found and the protein image doesn't exist, a text message will appear instead of an image.

The Protein Capture button has been added but will only appear if EM sees the emjpg.dll file in the folder EM is running in. It is very important that you put the new dll into the folder EM runs in if you want to save images for your HTML stats. There is also another feature that has been added to the HTML options page... "Save XYZ File" This feature checks the emprotein folder (created by EM) an if you do not have an example of the protein, EM makes a copy of the current.xyz file and puts it into this folder. This will allow you to build a library of samples for each of the proteins. If you check these files for new proteins that you have not made images for and find a new one has been added, just drag it to the protein image window and drop it. EM will draw the image and you can press the Protein Capture button and save a copy. Then double click the image window and the current protein will be redrawn. Doing this will not hurt a thing as EM will recover the right protein image when it updates. To be on the safe side, always make EM draw the tracked protein when you finish making a new protein image if you used the drag/drop method to make a picture file.

In the HTML file creation option window you have a new text box and a new check box. The new check box allows you to display a sample image of each protein you have folded. The displayed "size" of the image is measured in pixels and defaults at 32. Currently you can only make the HTML code use "square" images, 32x32, 64x64, etc. I like using the 64x64 image in my display. The actual size of the image is 125x125 when the EM display is set for 2 or more proteins. If you are tracking only 1 protein the saved image size is 220x220. Used in conjunction with the new save XYZ file feature you can make a really nice HTML file record of your folding.

The configuration information has been changed and added to. EM now recognizes these new fields. If you modify the information, you have to do it when the client is not running or it will overwrite your EM changes when the client closes.

I moved the image that notifies you that the current protein can't be finished in time to be useful to Stanford. You can still finish it and get credit for it, but it is tossed out by Stanford and is really a waste unless you are just looking for points. The bug that causes this feature to malfunction (using 24 hour time) still exists. I haven't come up with a good fix yet. That should be fixed in the 1.7.7 release. Sorry about that.
