just got a gainward geforce 4 ti 4200 w/ 3.5 ns 64mb ddr
out of the box i installed the manufacturers drivers, then ran morrowind and the game was filled w/ artifacts - that was running it slightly overclocked, so i went back to the regular clock, and changed to nvidias new detenator drivers that came out today, and bam, i can't run morrowind, so i install medal of honor allied assault and bam, can't run it either, program errors both ways, so, i reinstall the old driver, still can't run any of the games, so i uninstall everything, reinstall drivers that came frmo the manufacturers website, still can't get into the games, next, i try installing the original drivers on a different windows that is installed on another hard drive, and guess what, can't run either of the games, i get these errors everytime and i need some help, so please please help me....

Uninstall all the nVidia drivers and let windoze load its own driver for the card (Std. VGA Adapter)
Go here; http://www.guru3d.com/files/detonator/
Download Det. Destroyer and follow the instuctions.
Go back and get the new drivers, then update driver from where you stored the Dets.

You did not mention what OS you are using.

I had the same problem with my MSI card but instead of redoing the drivers I set the Anti-Aliasing to autodetect and restored the opengl defaults. The two games (NOLF and Quake3) now play spectacularly.

It sounds like I figured it out right away but I got the card Friday and took it to a LAN on Saturday and those games and many more (dungeon seige rocks) were beautiful. It was only after I had started to tweak the settings yesterday and tried to play that I found out I had stepped on something. Many reinstalls and tweaks later I had it narrowed down. I hope that the same thing is going on with your card because its an easy fix. Good luck.

I don't have a lot of experience with XP but it should.nt change how games look at anti-aliasing.

make sure you not have remaining files of previous drivers. if you have the agp bus overclocked set it back to the default 66MHz.
run dxdiagnose and check for errors in the files tab and the display tab.

you can try also testing the card with another machine. if u havent the system overclocked its possible the card is defective.

Does your computer freeze, or does a window just open then close. Try testing with your old card.

If your computer is freezing you might have a heat issure with the GPU core since when you apply any load to it it quits.

Try 3DMARK2001 see if you can run it.
