Is it just me? Or does no one else care about Detonator leak anymore...

I dunno guys. A long, long time ago (in the sense of this crazy digital age), I used to be excited about the next Detonator release. I guess it was because you could actually SEE a difference in the new driver. Now-a-days (and for a while now), it feels like "damn, what's up with nVidia???" I'm so sick of all these "leaked" drivers that make no difference at all. I'm sorry... Maybe this post serves no purpose and I welcome you all to flame me. But I just felt a need to say "hey, cut that out!" Give us something that actually makes a difference! Just my 2 cents...

I agree. Too many leaked drivers are around that do absolutley jack. I still get them for some reason though.

I am a newbie at the nVidia stuff and I noticed that there isn't any anticipation for new drivers like at ATI.

nVidia is the "top dog" now. They are getting lazy and maybe a little arrogant.

I hate to sound so ignorant, but what the flip is a "leaked" driver?! I'm using an nVidia RIVA TNT2 M64 without too many problems (but some problems, yes :( ). Does this topic affect me?

A "leaked" driver is a driver that will be coming out soon but is still in beta stage. They are also called "beta drivers" for this reason. They promise nothing and they're just for testing. I don't know how they get leaked, but they do. Usually, not many of them become "official" drivers.

well i beleive there must be almost nothing else to get from the older cards on the newer drivers, they are better supposed to fix issues more than adding to performance.
there is something however: img quality. compare img quality on the 28.32 with 21.81 for instance. besides the 100 points difference in 3dmark score is not really so much, how many more fps in games? 2, 3?

back in the 6.50 days, nvidia not released a new version for quite a long time and the leaked drivers became popular then. there were performance, img quality differences but now nvidia also releases new gpus and new drivers are needed. they are optimized mostly to the new hardware, thats why there is no performance difference as before.
i not tried out the latest official - i hope its as good as the great 23.11.
