looks good, hard to make?? did you drill it out?
Used a mill up at work ..
I found a deal about 200 mils being a nice base for XP Cores ..

Isn't 200 Mil. about 5mm? I think that is just where you want it to be, is it not?
Edit - - It looks really good!
Yup .... Just a RCH off a quarter inch
that should preform well! nice holes in the bottom for turbulance. that is how i would mod my block if i had one...
i'm thinking of making my first block.....not too sure how easy it is and what tools u need tho...
did u mill out the spyrle then put a base on?
No .. The bottom was a solid chunk of copper ..
I milled it on a Hand mill ..
Then finished it by putting dimples along the channel with a hand drill ..
And messing the sides up as much as I could
And then there was the lapping ... sigh ..
Maskedgeek had mentioned that the flat stock I got may be less than flat .. He was correct ..
I went through 200 grit up to 1500 on the bottom of the top ..
And the top and bottom of the base .. On a 12 inch diameter Optical flat chunk of Pyrex ..
Those surfaces are FLAT !!!!:D
Im gonna give it a good dose of 3000 after the brazing ..
cool, let us know what the results are like
Heres that Pyrex I was yappin' about :)

You can get Plate Glass Blanks or Pyrex at Willbell.com

But they have blanks from 4" up to 20'ish ..

Where does one aquire copper hunks? I live in a small town, and checked with the local sheet metal shop. They said they didn't know where you would get solid copper. All they have is sheets.

Looking great man, hope you get good results!
I got mine at Online metals ...
Dont get me wrong here .. their a great Vendor ..
Cheap .. and you get a tracking number etc.
But the thinner pieces of bar stock are warped abit ..
You can tell when you start sanding and all that makes contact are the outside edges
Are danger's blocks fairly plumb ??

That site seem pretty good. When I'm looking at the sizes, what do the numbers refer to. Is the first one thickness, the second one width?
